Hollywood has never met a sequel it couldn’t muddle with a multitude of villainy, and “The Amazing Spider-Man” series is no exception. After an overly melodramatic opening that delves more into the disappearance of his parents, we catch up with Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-man, The Social Network, Never Let Me Go), who’s in an “it’s complicated” relationship with most things in his life.

Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell, Frozen, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) returns to Neptune, when old flame Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring TV’s Moonlight, Ringer) is accused of murder (again, for the marshmallows out there). She’s on the precipice of graduating law school and joining a big-time, successful law firm in New York City to the joy of her father (the invaluable Enrico Colantoni, Galaxy Quest, TV’s Just Shoot Me!)

The sky blue of local graffiti artist Johny D’s spray paint quickly starts to come together and form shapes on the side of the building. A monochrome Charlie Chaplin looks on and winks as he mutters something in Russian. Johny D steps back to admire his work next to the hundreds of tags and layers of paint that coat the ever-evolving building.

In the ever expansive race to find a superior alternative fuel, fusion energy has been eluding scientists for decades. But some researchers at the UW are closing in on what could be a more accessible method for fusion power. The fusion engine operates similar to a car engine: The plasmas (hot, ionized gases) are made outside the cylinder and, much like with a fuel injector, the two plasmas are then forced to collide using pulsing, cylindrical magnets, similar to a piston compression in a car.

A Washington state advisory committee met Tuesday morning to discuss the implications of differential tuition on the Guaranteed Education Tuition (GET) program at the UW. The Legislative Advisory Committee focused on the evolution of the GET program to handle the problems that differential tuition — or varying the cost of different degree programs — would create.
